Apparently this is a device for sampling a quantity of air to extract particulates? or spores? for microscopic examination. However I can't figure how it can, as claimed, draw in more air than it has water in its reservoir. I can kind of see how drops of water falling down the tube could act as a pump, but surely it couldn't compress the collected air above atmospheric pressure?
