faded images - not sure if actual image or imprint

  I've come across a couple of pages like these, where the image is so very faint or faded that I'm unsure whether the image was intended to be on this page or whether it was a blank page with the image being transferred from another plate. The writing appears to be the correct way around however it is so faint that I'm having difficulty reading it.

  This is an example of an illustration covered by a protective sheet of paper. If you look at the page in the BHL collection, you should be able to find the uncovered image.
